Do I need a referral from a doctor?
No. You can request an assessment directly. If your insurer requires a referral for reimbursement, or if something in your history suggests medical review is the better first step, that will be flagged in the reply before you book anything.
What should I wear and bring?
Clothing you can move, squat and lie down in — shorts are ideal for knee, hip and ankle problems, and a vest top for shoulder or neck work. Bring the shoes you run, lift or work in, plus any scan reports or surgical notes you have.
Will the treatment hurt, and will I be sore afterwards?
Testing can briefly reproduce your symptoms, because that is how we know what we are measuring. Hands-on work is kept within what you tell us is tolerable. Mild soreness for a day after a first session is common; a flare that lasts longer than that means the entry load was too high and we adjust it.
How many sessions will I need?
Most straightforward problems take three to six visits across six to eight weeks, with the gaps widening as you take over the plan. Post-operative rehab runs longer and is booked as a block. You will get an estimate at the first assessment and an honest update if it changes.
Can I claim this on private health insurance?
Receipts are itemised with session type, duration and date, which is what most policies ask for. Check your own cover limits and whether your insurer requires pre-authorisation before the first visit — the studio does not bill insurers directly.
What is the cancellation policy?
Twenty-four hours' notice releases the slot at no charge, and we will offer it to whoever is next on the list. Inside twenty-four hours the session is charged, because a single-therapist diary cannot absorb it. Illness and genuine emergencies are handled sensibly.
Do you see people during pregnancy or after birth?
Yes, for musculoskeletal complaints such as back, hip and pelvic girdle pain, and for returning to strength work afterwards. Pelvic health physiotherapy is a separate specialism and those referrals are directed to a practitioner who holds it.
Is the studio a gym I can train in between sessions?
No — the floor is used for appointments only, one person at a time. Your plan is written for whatever equipment you do have, whether that is a full gym, a pair of dumbbells, or a doorway and a step.
